May 24, 2009 - Debleeq Record Release: Wierd Wierd

The second release on Dableeq is the debut for Steve Stock. The release, entitled “wired weird” is a compilation of four tracks all created in a deep vain of minimal and tech house. The lead three tracks give off vibes of struggle and insanity all tied together with solid moving grooves. Be sure to give Stock’s previously unreleased highnoon a good ear as well for some more laid back fare.

My Stamp Collection is meant to be a positively driven, off kilter groove. Positivity is something we all can tap into and that is the purpose of this funky number. Slightly twisted, funky, jazzy and swing driven Steve hopes to portray all of these elements in a jolted yet cohesive style.

Chunkytown has a full swinging baseline with nice touches of vocal stabs with effects and ambiance to give a full yet cracked vibe. This is a funky little track with a flow that is sure to get stuck on repeat in listener’s minds.

May 23, 2009 - Debleeq Record Release: 001

Michael’s first release, Dableeq 001 made its debut today to coincide with the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Dableeq (www.dableeq.com) is a startup label in Detroit featuring Steve Stock, Ian Givens, Tool & Die as well in addition Michael Amerine.

Dableeq 001 features four of Mike’s original works. All of the tracks on the record are bass line driven, dance oriented, dark and driving techno songs.

New creation has a sub ripping 303 bass line and crisp electro-esque rhythms. Deep pads are punctuated by a screaming synth stab making this track a head spinning floor filler.

Murk, like new creation, plays with the juxtaposition of grimy chemical synths against dreamy pad sounds. This one does so with a more organic sounding, driving rhythm section. The heady swells and rhythmic bass will keep the feet moving.

Dadeep is a deep track that touches on dub, minimal and deep house. Snappy rhythms and simplistic delayed melodies make this a track a great fit for a deep house or minimal set.

Snarfulgargon is the creepiest track on the release. Grinding, creeping, slithering sounds fill the void with dark unsettling energy and the sounds of decay.
